  • Visitor Visa for attending graduation Ceremony of an Online Masters Program (MOOC)

    Hi,

    Situation:

I am currently pursuing a online masters from one of the reputed US universities and scheduled to graduate in May this year and interested in attending the graduation ceremony on campus.
I have got the online invitation letter for the graduation ceremony and also requested for a digital transcript.

I quit my job approximately a year ago to focus on my Masters and complete it soon.

I want to visit along with my wife.

I have read that showing strong ties to India is important and hence needed some advice on how to establish that.

I do not have any properties in my name as they are all in my father's name. I however have savings from my previous employment (in FDs, bank deposit and mutual funds) and would be funding our travel myself. I also have a couple of insurance policies in our name.

My wife has been working at her current employer for around 8 months now but is going to move to a new job next month. She has the offer letter from that company.

Would a NOC letter from the new employer granting leave along with her offer letter be a good enough supporting document.

I just want to visit the university and be back and would only be staying for around a week.

I don't think such as NOCs have any value.

      Which country are you from?

Your wife's future job doesn't have to do anything for now.

Apply together & be ready with proof that you can support both of your trip's expenses.
