B1/B2 Renewal

Hello There,

I was applying for a VISA renewal for my parents and was wondering if they are eligible for the interview waiver. Their VISA expired last September (2017) but was approved before 2008. Does this entitle them to go only for the ten printing?

Thank you. I did go through that before asking the question too.

However my concern is with the following line:

If you are applying for BCC, BBCV, B1/B2,...is still valid or expired within the last 48 months.

I went for mine after a year and that is when they said the new law was in effect and I needed to go for the interview again. I remember hearing somewhere that the period is now 12 months. That is the confirmation I am looking for.
