Mistake in Form DS-156

Last time my mother appeared for visitor visa & it was refused. I am on H4 Visa, but unknowingly I had filled my status as Legal permanent resident on DS-156. This time I am filling the same column as H4 Visa. Do they compare this column & will there be any problem ? can my mother say that it was a mistake last time. Pls advise.

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. My mother will tell the truth. But I am feeling scared will this be an issue ? do they keep the previous DS-156 & the present one & compare & then ask ? Or is there a possibility this may not be taken seriously ?

Tell the truth

US Immigration officer have all the details in their database so always tell them truth.Dont even thing they forget or didt take seriously as its on in database.
