I had OPT and ended July 1st, 2017. I enrolled the school to maintain my f-1, but unfortunately, I was involved a lawsuit. After discussing with DSO, I dropped the school and submitted I-539 to changr my status on August 30th, 2017.
As a date of Feb 16, 2018, my case is approved. However, I have a question regarding this issue. Most of people say that I must leave the country before I-94 expires. I was checking my I-94 and showing D/S (No date specified).
I also googled, and only six months will be given for I-539. Do I have to leave the state 6 months from "August 30th 2017" or "Feb 16 2018"? Will I get a new I-94 with departure date?
