  • AOS EOS COS on Passport

I am currently a US citizen who was traveling back to the USA with my mother, who is on a visit visa. During our layover, the CBP questioned my mother and limited her entry to the USA from 6 months to 2 weeks with No AOS, EOS, COS on the passport. Does this mean I will not be able to change this status and apply for my mother for immigration while she is in the USA? Would I be able to apply for an extension? 2 weeks is no time at all and I was hoping she would be able to help me with taking care of my baby for a few months. Any information and elaboration would be really appreciated! Very worried about this situation. Thank you in advance!

CBP's notations are not binding on USCIS, but it could be a negative factor in USCIS's determination.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Since she only has 2 weeks in the USA, I am sure the process will take a longer so will she need to leave the USA in the meantime? Or can she stay with me while I am trying to get everything figured out? I am very worried since my mother doesn't have anyone in our home country and she will be alone and she is 60+

      Thanks
