Hi,
Recently my parents attended the interview at Chennai. They got 214(b) rejection slip. Below are the questions asked:
1. Who is there in US?
Ans: Son
2. Where is he residing?
Ans: XX, XX state
3. How long he is there?
Ans: 2 years
4: Is he married?
Ans: yes
5. How may children he has?
Ans: 3
6. What you are doing?
Ans: Pensioner
7. What is your wife doing?
Ans: House Wife
8. How long you are going to US?
Ans: 3 months (mentioned as 6 months in DS 160)
9. Which all are the countries travelled other than India?
Ans: Qatar when my younger son was there and Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage.
Counselor gave the rejection slip. It was mentioned in the rejection slip that the counselor is not convinced about the financial background / ties of them in India and he assumed that they are not going to come back from US.
When they got the rejection slip, they just took it and left the counter.
Actually they have 2 houses, plantations, farms and father is earning pension of Rs.22000 INR. Also mother is earning around Rs.45000 per month from rented out properties and farms. They had all the documents - pension book, tax paid receipts, bank statements, property documents with them.
But the counselor did not ask for the proof.
We would like to know:
1. What could have went wrong?
2. When they can attend for the next interview?
3. What all precautions to be taken for the next time?
Appreciate responses from those who have similar experience.
Thanks in advance.
