Hi, my mother is on B2 visa with I-94 expiring this weekend. Her I-539 application for extension was submitted in January and is still pending. We went for a trip to Cancun Mexico for a week and came back a few days ago. The border officer re-validated her I-94 without changing the I-94 number or the date, but said her I-539 application may be cancelled and we need to contact USCIS. Is this true? The online status of her I-539 case still shows "Case was received". What can I do at this point? Thanks.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
