Some changes in Form DS 160 online filling
Hi,
First, I would like to thank immihelp for providing so much info about B2 visa process and guidance on form filling and appointment scheduling. Without their help, I would have ended up going to some agent....
Few updates that I noticed during the process are here:
1) No photo required -- this was a big painful surprise because I went by details given by immihelp and got my and spouse's photos done from a shop. But while filling out the DS 160, at the end, the space for photo showed message "photo will be taken at ASC". I reconfirmed with someone who had just visited last month and that's true. So, do not waste time and money in getting photos - at least true for Mumbai.
2) DS 160 filling is a nasty process. Every 5 minutes (not 20 minutes of idling time as claimed on their site) irrespective of continuous data entry, the message pops up to click OK to continue session. If you don't click OK in 1 min, the session goes out! Either way, it is quite irritating.
3) For saving retrieving a form, it is said that you need a secret question answer along with your form number. But that is not enough, it also asks the last name portion and YOB. So unless first complete page is entered and saved, it's useless to retrieve. I wasted 2 new form numbers just like that.....
4) Saving the submitted form is a big thing! I saved it (it got downloaded as a PDF in downloads) but forgot to rename it. When I filled my spouse's form and after submitting it saved it, bang! It overwrote my form because of the same name. True, it was my mistake, but still. And now I can't print my form. When I enter my form number and other security details to retrieve it, only confirmation is shown and Print Form button is disabled. I don't understand the logic why it would be disabled. But now I am here without any printed copy of the form.
Does anyone know how to print a submitted form which is not saved at the time of confirmation?
