Can anyone give me info about hopw to apply and proceed for tatkal Passport? My parents want to apply for it and someone told them that I , living in US, would have to send them a letter stating why I need them to apply for it. Is that true?

You don't need anything from US. You have to just apply for it at the regional passport office.Immihelp Support

for a tatkal passport,u would have to send a letter from a doctor stating that u need immediate help for medical reasons.OR/if ur parent/parents r govt employees they can go to the commissioners of police's office and get a no objection certificate from them.this will take 2 days.then they can go to the passport office and apply for tatkal.this takes 2 working days.my parents did the latter and the whole procedure took 5 days.Comment

I don’t think for Tatkaal passport doctor’s letter is required but if you have medical emergencies you can apply for Tatkaal passport if you do not have one yet.Originally posted by rajaram
