  • Applying for tourist visa for my sister

    Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if I go ahead a apply for a tourist visa for my sister, what are the chances for it be approved?

For some background: I am currently unemployed, recent grad and my husband will be sponsoring my sister's tourist visa. I would like her to come and attend my walk (graduation party) in June, but I am worried her visa application may be rejected because she is currently unemployed in India. Has anyone of you gone through a similar situation or have known someone else who has been through this situation. Any thoughts is highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

the chances of her visa being approved are highly unlikely.
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Being unemployed doesn't help her, is she perhaps in education? Any documents from these establishments to show that you have responsibilities and are not likely to overstay will be helpful. If she owns any properties, vehicles etc, documents showing this also allows the officer doing the interview to see ties to their own country.

It's hard to tell you for sure as it's assessed on a case by case basis.
