  • Question on sending document at Mumbai consulate

My understanding is; for interview at Mumbai consulate, the documents need to reach the consulate at least 5 days prior to the interview.

The NonBEP-rest pdf document lists the documents my parents need to send in a cloth lined envelope. They have mentioned about sending supporting documents.

My question is, if they send all supporting documents, what do they carry during the interview, just the appointment letter? Or should they make copies of the supporting documents and take it with them?

    Thanks.

for Mumbai consulate you are required to submit following documents only, after scheduling appt a minimum of 5 day prior to your appt.

    1.Original DS156
    2. Original DS157
    3. DD for Rs. 2300/-
    4. Orginal HDFC receipt-consulate copy-yellow sticky
    5. Copy of passport -first and last page and any other remark page
    6.Copy of the interview letter
    7. Checklist

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO BE TAKEN ONLY AT THE TIME OF THE INTERVIEW.

The website as well as the checklist with the appt letter is mentioning supporting documents but these are not required to be send in advance for Visitors visa

      No need of cloth-lined envelope

In fact, at the VFS center in Pune, they do not even take the cloth lined envelope. All that they take is the set of documents. One disturbing aspect is that no acknowledgement is issued after your submission at a VFS center. They seriously need to start doing that. Other than that, they have done a great job of streamlining the entire process.
