IS GC an advantage ?- Please Help

Is having GC an advantage for parents to obtain visa. Usually CO routine question is: Is your son has GC? What exactly CO is trying to get from this question.

I filled the papers with I-485 pending and now I just got the GC. Appointment is couple of days ahead.

Please help.

I don't see any advantage/dis-advantage in having the GC.
