  • No show for B1/B2 appointment

Due to a terrible oversight, I was unable to cancel my visitors visa appointment in time. Hence I was a no show at the consulate for the visitors visa interview appointment. I called VFS and they said that my appt will be automatically cancelled and put back in queue in 2 business days. I know this sounds terrible. What a mistake on my part. I mixed up my appt. date. I keep telling myself these things happen. I am never so unresponsible. VFS said, I will appear as a no show in the system in the future, but that will not have any impact on a future application. They may ask why I missed the preious appt. and I will have to give a valid reason. I will, of course, reschedule the appt. (another 6 month wait) My question is, is there anything I can do now to do any damage control? What impact do you think this will have on any future applications. Please help me!

As long as you have a VALID reason and able to explain when asked you should be good, I think.
Dont worry, prepare well for next interview.
    All the best

Obviously there will be a notation about no show in the system. However, you can reapply anytime.

        why 6 months?

        Hi

I have a visa appointment but i may not be able to keep it as am travelling the night before. I wanted to ask why you have to wait for 6 months before getting an appointment? as I heard that even after no-show the application is activated next day and then we can book an appointment again? am talking about B1 here...
