Hello to all the team members of this site,
I have applied for visitor visa for my parents in august 2006. I have these questions -
1) My father is a retired govt officer. he does not get pension. He had received PF & retirement funds atonce which he invested in various schemes & is getting around Rs.8000/- as interest monthly. Apart from this, he has got property worth Rs 70 lakhs & bank deposits around 5 lakhs. Now if the CO asks what is your annual income, what should my father say ? should he say Rs.96000/- or should he say Rs.96000/-+property 70 lakhs+ bank deposits 5 lakhs ? Do all these constitute for annual income ?How does he put it in words ? Is it a disadvantage that he is getting only 96000/- annualy ?
2) In this forum it is written that appplicant's last 3 years IT returns are to be taken to the consulate. But since my father does not fall under IT bracket, he did not file returns for the last 2 years. will there be any problem if he doesn't have the returns ?
3) some people are mentioning that ration card is being asked by COs ? does he have to carry it too ?
4) some people have mentioned that questions like son in laws date of birth, emplyment & salary details, complete res address, tel nos & such questions are put by the COs. Is it necessary for our parents to mug all these details before the interview ? I think they will get confused.
5) I have a sister too in US. I am sposoring my parents, but in this forum it is mentioned that the visa copies of other children in us too must be carried. Is it really necessary ? I haven't heard of anyone or read anywhere in the people's experiences here about parents carrying the visa copies of children other than sponsorer ?
Pls clarify.
