  • My Mother & Sister VISA rejected

This morning my mother and sister went for a VISA but they were both rejected the VISA. They were told you do not have strong ties to India.

I just became a Citizen and I think that may have been the reason.

At this point I do not know what can be done... I am getting married in November and that is why I am trying to get them here.

I am trying to get the first available appointment... before november.

Is there anyhting that I can do here? A senator? will that help? or its just no use.

I'm sorry to hear that. Can you please tell what questions were asked to your mom and sister. Did the VO ask/see any documents? If you don't mind and if its not too personal can you sharel a few more details whether your mom is employed, your sister is employed/housewife etc. Reason is my mom, sister and nephew are going for the interview end of this month and it will help me better prepare them.

    Thanks.

VISA's are given totally at random...

My mother is a house wife and my father recently passed away. My sister responded to all questions. She was asked how many children, who is here, who is in the US etc. Then she was asked about my father, my sister explained that he had passed away (she asked for the date).

Then she was asked about our income, which my sister explained and said we both pay Income tax, do you want to see our income tax statments. She also explained the business that my father was in and that she now manages the business.

Then she was asked what is the immigration status of you brother? She said he is a US Citizen. To which the lady kind of said OH.. and twiched her lips.

Then she said you do not have sufficient ties to Indian and will become immigrants. My sister said "NO we have property, house, business etc, we do not want to immigrate, we are only going for my brothers wedding". She said no, that is not sufficient ties.

My sister said can you at least allow my mother. To which she was told, apply again and with stronger ties and we will consider.

Its so stupid because I am a citizen, I have the legal right to apply for their immigration if I want. But my mother is not interested in immigrating as she is 65 and likes her, frields, family and support system in India.

Also she has been to the US before and returned to Indian in 4 months. 2 years ago she applied and also got a VISA. Now all of a sudden she is a potential immigrant..... they are so stupid.

I tried for another VISA dat but it is in Nov well after my wedding date, so now I am hoping to see if I get a spot if someone cancel.

I am going to speak to a Senator & my local Congress, so ask what do you mean by potential immigrant...

DAMN I have the right to IMMIGRATE them as I AM A CITIZEN stupid! when thousands slip thu the mexican border we have such stupids at consulate.

We cannot blame them, they must be the average minimum paid dumb desk clerk who got promoted because she took a job at a consulate in a third world country.

        My 2cents

        Do not send them together

        - Prepare all documents properly
        - Hope a stupid does not interview them ( That is a bit difficult beause they all operate the same way)
