Renew visitor visa before expiration(USA)

Hi all,

My parents' visitor visa(B1/B2) is expiring on April 2019(10 years completion). They are planning to travel to the US by October end and will be staying for 6 months. But, before the six months, their visa will get expired.

So, I wanted to renew their visa before October(or earlier).

1. May I know how early can we renew the visitor visa? Is there a time frame?
2. Do they have to go through the visa interview process or can do drop-box procedure?(They got their stamping in 2009 April)

A US visa is solely for entry. The expiration date means the last day you can use the visa for entry. The visa's expiration date has nothing to do with your stay inside the US. She can enter the US on the day in April 2019 when the visa expires and be admitted on B2 for 6 months.

Since she is entering the US before the visa expires, there is no reason to get a new visa.
