  • i94 not updated, no date stamp on US entry

    HI,

I am in a bit of a pickle and could use help. I entered US on a b2 visa on June 29 aand went through immigration at Toronto Pearson. My b2 visa expires on 11 July and I had to change my return flight to depart US on 20 July (previously it was 10 July).

Now the issue is that my i94 record has not been fully updated online, in my last visits I can see an entry on June 29 for Toronto but my most recent i94 is from my last visit last year. There is no mention of my current visit otherwise.

On the admission stamp, only b2 is mentioned and not the date of validity of stay.

I want to know without a valid i94, do I have to leave the US before 11 July? Or is it understood they gave me 6 months to stay in US even though my visa expires on 11 July.

I definitely don't want to overstay my visa so would appreciate help.

Anyone else has been in similar situation?

    TIA

Your visa expiry date does not determine your I94 validity date. It is determined by the CBP officer at immigration. Visa is merely for entering the US. So you should not be concerned with your visa expiring prior to your departure.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.

I understand that. I do not know what my i94 validity is as it has ot been updated online and is not mentioned on entry stamp.

My point was: The expiry date on your visa does not help you in any case, since it is the I94 and only the I94 that you should be concerned with.

Went to see deferred inspection site in san Francisco this nothing and had i94 corrected.

New entry stamp placed on passport and validity of stay also mentioned.
