Appropriate time for making visa applivation

My wife has 10yM B1/B2 visa for US.I am a professional self employed therefore did not apply when my wife applied for the visa.I have a son who is on F1-student. I want to apply for a visitors visa so that I can attend my son's graduation in June 2007. My b-in-law is my sponsor. As such the available slot is in the month of Nov at Chennai.In view of above what will be the appropriate time when I can make an application? In the event I make an application now and inform the CO that I intend travelling only in the month of June 2007 will it affect my case?

If you are sure that you will be travelling only in Jun'07, I wld suggest to wait till the VFS opens the dates for Mar'07(or something like that).

I think it is too early to go for Interview now.
