Visa for parents

Hi,

is B2 is a proper visa type for my parents(I am on H1b) ?

Secondly, my parents are planning to come over in April next year, so is it OK if they appear for the visa interview sometime in september 2006 ?

Once B2 is granted is there any timeframe within which they have to travel ?

Okay, but you can also wait for Jan'07 dates.

I heard that consulate issues 6 months B2 visa for first timers..is that so ? If they issue a visa for 6 months only, in that case, the visa wil lexpire in march 2007 whereas parents are likely to come over in April 2007 ??

No, it all depends on VOs.

Better wait till VFS opens the dates for Jan/Feb'07
