    Hi,

    My name is Mukesh (32yrs) ...

    I and my wife had applied for a USA Tourist visa.
    few details of me :

    Profession: b.E
    occupation: Service(past 5yrs in the same company)
    Salary: 67000/pm

    My wife is also a working professional and earns around 20000rs/month.

    We had carried all the documents with us:
    1)Leave sanction letter (20days)
    2)bank statement+salary slips
    3)invitation letter from a family friend who stays in the US

    this is how our interview went:

    VO: Hello Mukesh
    Me: hello good morning mam(with a smile)

    VO: Why do you want to travel to the US?
    Me: Tourism and traveling purpose

    VO: do you know anyone in the US?
    Me: yes, family friend Mr xxxx

    VO: where do you leave??
    Me: Pune, Maharashtra

    VO: Have you traveled to other countries??
    Me: Yes to Srilanka and Thailand with my wife

    After few minutes of typing on the computer, she handed over the passport to me and said sorry this time you are not eligible plz try next time

    She did not ask a single question to my wife nor did she see any documents.. I could not find any reason for visa denial..can any one help and give expert views

    The visa issuance is not based on ONLY interview. They check various aspects about you - your background first & lastly your interview.

    Try to find out what you filled-in in your DS160 & was there anything hidden/not correct.

    Do you have any pending court cases, medical history etc - that can also be reason for denial.
