  • Is it ok to get a translator

    Hi,

My parents Visa has been rejected twice before and they have their interview on the 27th of this month.

The first time my father requested a hindi translator and the second time he did not. both times my parents visa was rejected. Even though my father whos a retired doctor can understand and speak english , I dont want t take any chances due to the accent of the visa officer. is it safe if he requests a translator. The reason I am asking this is because they would think being a retired doctor he should know english.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks
    Randhir

I think only for Mumbai consulate they have translators available and for other centers you need to specify at the time of taking an appointment if you need translator.

Try to see what was missing in prev interviews and send/prepare addl docs if required.

Actually if you specify your state to be any of the states that come under Kolkata, Delhi or Mumbai consulates you don't get a language option on the VFS website. So I think none of these require language appointments ahead of time except Chennai.

      Just my $0.02

In Mumbai consulate they ask you once you reach there that whether you need a translator or not.

Will it reduce the chances of getting a visa if my dad requests a translator.

If not comfortable with the english appt, have a translator. It will not reduce your chances.
