  • Sponsor for my Brother-in-law's wife

    Hi

I am inviting my In-laws and also my brother-in-law and his wife. Brother-in-law has a valid B1/B2 visa , Visitor is needed for in-laws and Brother-in-law's wife.

I have mentioned Brother-in-law as sponsor for his wife, does he need to fill I-134 affidavit of support for his wife's visa interview.

    Thanks,
    Shrinivas

No, first of all I134 is not a legally bounding document - mostly its useless.

Second a USA non-resident signing a USA document doesn't make any sense either.

My suggestion would be to have your BIL's wife apply separately - requesting she want to join her husband (as dependent) for a short visit.

Thank you, Makes sense about I-134.

She will be going to interview along with my in-laws, Should there be any issue with that?

If you?ve already scheduled appointment its no harm. Its not an issue either.

Just that parents visa is mostly easy, & 99% done. SIL?s visa have little less chances & my suggestion was to not impact VO?s decision for your parents.
