Hope I can get some advice on my particular situation:
I was on H1B visa and worked in US for 10 yrs with my wife on H4 and I am now retired and back in India. I am 62. I have my daughter and son-in-law working in US, 2 sons working in India. I have my mother, brothers and sisters in India. I have properties (house, land etc) in India too.
I have some friends in US (Florida, Hawaii) who have invited me and my wife to visit them around Nov-Dec 06-Jan 07 period, because that is a very convenient time for them. My question is:Will it be ok to schedule a tourist Visa interview in Nov 06 , ie, within 6 months of leaving US? Or will that be risky and is it better to get an interview date in Jan 07 and plan the visit in early 2007? We intend to sponsor ourselves.
Any advise?
