Hi
First let me convey my thanks...Thanks to Immihelp for maintaining this great site and kudos to all the experienced guys (especially Dahlia) answering all the questions patiently and guiding the new comers. Great work...
I am quite follower of this site from 3 months also posted couple of questions. Prepared all the documents based on the list provided at Immihelp and gathered all possible questions in these three months. I am on H1b status and was on status legally always also have all the documents.
My In-laws attended the B2 visa interview at chennai consulate on June14,06.
This is how it went, Their appointment was @ 12:00 PM , they were allowed into the consulate by 11:45 and by the time they reached the counter its 4:30 PM. They complained that the first steps i.e taking the HDFC receipts, sorting the documents etc took like 2 - 3 hrs (I donot know wether it was just this day or all days). One more complaint is no courtesy to the old people, no water when in line and is under a shed which was very hot, in-laws mentioned that couple of old people became unconsious and fell down.
(US Consulate please be courteous and provide the minimal things at least water). I think nothing has changed from before, We used to stand outside the consulate for hours in line and now it is inside the consulate
(
Once they were in the line at the counter, the counsler rejected the first three people and fourth, my in-laws (They were so tensed but the interview went very smoothly)
Here are the questions:
1) How many children do you have?
Ans : Two daughters
2) Who is in US and what is she doing?
Ans : Elder daughter on H4 visa and she is a home maker
3) Where is your younger daughter and what is she doing?
Ans : Just completed her BTech and is staying with us (Here itself I think CO took the decision)
4) Where is your son-in-law working and what is his income
Ans : He is working as YYYY X at YYYY company with a xxxxx salary. Father-in-law tried to submit the sponsor docs but the counselor refused to take them.
5) Can I see your daughters passport?
Ans : Docs given
Have a nice trip and asked to pay the 2300 DD. None of the documents seen expect my wife's passport copy.
May be we are lucky getting the visa after 3 rejects.
All the best for the future visa applicants and again thanks a lot Immihelp and the experienced guys helping others.
I will update with the number of years visa was issued, after receiving the passport.
Thanks
