  • Unintended space in Surname in passport

I am about to apply for a B2 visa for my parents. My father's Surname in his passport has a gap which need not be there (example: "Narasimha Chariar" instead of the usual "Narasimhachariar"). My question is, will this create any problem with the application, VFS web forms, etc.?

Does anyone have any experience with two-word surnames?!

As it is common in Tamil Nadu to use only an initial, most of my father's documents simply have "N. Firstname" as his name. However his father's name is listed variously in different docs like the SSLC certificate, birth certificate... How much of a problem will this be?

    Thanks!

I don't see a problem with this. From now onwards, write the name everywhere exactly as written in the passport.
