  • Forever banned

Dear members, I have a question. A friend of mine's brother has been told that he was forever banned from entering the US because he lied in a previous VISA application. Many years ago, he had applied for a B1/B2 VISA application where one of his personnel had filled it in and this person wasn't aware that his boss had a criminal record. At the time his VISA application was denied because of his criminal record. Many years have passed and his record has been expunged and when he made a new VISA application, they told him that since he lied in his previous application, he's no longer eligible and he's forever banned. Is that correct? Does he have any chance if he gets a lawyer in the US? Alternatively, can he submit an I - 192?

I would appreciate if you could let me know.

    Thank you.

Nope lawyer wont' do anything, if he lied that is immediate ground for denial of visa, and they do have the option to prevent him from ever obtaining a visa of any kind.
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
