Tourist B2 Visa for Step Mom

Does't anybody has invitation letter to invite step mom and his son to USA to stay with me for some time for their vacation, I would like to sponsor them but I am not sure how embassy will treat? I cannot prove them as my direct MOM because my passport has different name?

As long as she can prove that she is married to your father & living with your father you should be good enough.

She can easily prove that by showing your father's name in her passport as spouse.
