  • dilemma b2 visitor visa - inviting inlaws family (3 members)

I am currently planning to bring my father-inlaw , mother inlaw and sister in law to visit my family. (myself, wife and daughter). Place of interview : Chennai , India

I am planning to file DS-160 considering all will travel together. my mother(education till school level) in law is a homemaker and father (education till school level) in law runs business. Sister in law dropped out of school at 8th standard and remained in house along with my mother in law.

Now i am in dilemma, should i apply for all - b2 visa ? or only for father/mother in law ?
Wondering whether adding sister in law will lead to rejection as she is 22 yrs of age but studied only till 8th.

    Please share your thoughts.
Also while trying to do the payment - how do i make group appointment ?

Chances are high for your parents to get the visa easily, however an unmarried young sister--in-law would be difficult. Still if you can prove that she has sufficient ties to her home country, go ahead with everyone together. Give a solid reason for your SIL to be in USA - like attending a custom ritual etc.

You can make group appointment on the same appointment site - keep adding all applications with one single login ID & then take appointment.

Thanks i did the group appointment. Fingers crossed. Hope visa gets approved. BTW how do they give a solid reason - do you mean a reason when the consular officer asks questions regarding the visit ?

In DS-160 there was no field to enter the reason for visit or any additional details.

      Thanks

The purpose of visit will be asked during interview - a solid reason/purpose can be to attend an important family function or ritual where a sister is needed.
