I've been trying to get my girlfriend over to the US for a few years there's a few issues I'm facing and now I'm looking for advice. She has no family and has developed severe emphysema and had to quit working even though we are only in our twenties. I've supported her for a year but I've known her longer than ten.
I originally wanted to get a K-1 visa but we've never met and it's an intense financial burden to pay for the living expenses of two different households and her treatment I make 28,000 but it's become over 40,000 annually just based on overtime alone I have to work to stay afloat.
The issue is we haven't met and I can't afford to miss the 72 hour work weeks I've been pulling all year. It would literally result in one of us becoming homeless. So instead I suppose I have to apply for a B-2 visa but it's been beyond a struggle to come up with the 5,000 dollars and hold it because she has a flare up at least once a month.
I'm only looking at 3,000 for my tax return because I can't claim any of the financial support I'm giving her and I'm not allowed to work more than one 84 hour week a month at my job. I only have until February if I'm going to have held the 5,000 for two months before the tropical storm season his and I have to do another year of 72 hour weeks.
If anyone has any advice for my situation I'd be grateful because if things go at this rate I'll work myself into an early grave and the tropical climate will put her into one too.
