First of all, I would like to thank you all for this forum, which is very helpful.
We paid the fee @ HDFC in second week of Feb’06 and got the appointment date as Jun’22. (For 1-2 weeks I tried to advance the date and gave up as no dates were available and I wanted them to be here by mid Jul.)
At that time no dates were available in Telugu, so my in-laws wanted me take appointment in English but I was not 100% confident for them going for English… even then the appointment was confirmed .
I had sent all the sponsor’s documents per this site and templates for visitors’ documents. They carried these documents as two separate sets, one with cover sheet “Sponsor’s Documents” and other with “Visitor’s Documents”. The next page in each set was Table of contents, which outlines the documents included in that set and a “post-it” attached to each document.
In addition to this I prepared audio CD of expected questions (thanks to SS92) in American accent (using Text to Speech s/w); think really this helped for them to understand the accent.
At the interview they were asked just 2 questions to FIL and none to MIL.
Q1. How many children do you have?
FIL: 4
Q2. What is your income?
FIL: YYYY per annum
It seems the VO was an American lady and after that she asked for documents, so FIL gave the sponsor’s document and it seems that she just had a glance at these and said “go and pay the fee, your visa granted, you will get passport in 4 working days” and that’s it.
My FIL is having business, MIL is homemaker,
Thanks a lot to Immihelp(Administrator), Dahlia(Raj), Visachief and other members of this forum for continuous support and help.
I am happy now….
Thanks
