  • B2 Visa rejected. Purpose was cousins wedding

I am 37yrs single women. My cousin requested me to come over for her wedding on 26th May. I really wished to attend the wedding and also spend a few days as vacation. Keeping that in mind I applied for a B2 visa. This is how it went.

VO: Can I have your passport
Me: I handed over my current passport
VO: what is the purpose of the visit
Me: Main purpose is My cousins wedding on 26th May which I wish to attend since my parents can?t travel plus I also wanted to club a 15 working days of break from office as site seeing trip.
VO: How long do u plan to stay
Me: 21 days exactly including weekend. Plan to be there by 24th May (She didn?t let me complete)
    VO: What do you do?
Me: I work with XYZ co. as a software test lead for Oracle ERP application. I am a Oracle ERP functional specialist
VO: How much do u earn?
Me: 9.23L p.a (One thing here is in application I had mentioned p.m salary, the same as yearly just divided by per month)
VO: Have u been anywhere else outside India?
Me: I went to Qatar in 2016 for 10 days vacation
VO: Are u single n married
Me: Very much single by choice
VO: Sorry madam your visa is not approved this time And she handed me the white slip with 214b clause.

I wished to be there for the wedding. I answered everything very truthfully and confidently and if anything was asked further could have tried to substantiate my need for coming back.
I have two questions if anyone can help
    1. What went wrong or what I could have done better
    2. If I reapply what are my chances and how do I present my case further.

Would be great if anyone can throw some light on it?

You needed to prove strong ties to your home country & only you are the best one to know what could have went wrong.
You being single could be one reason.

If there is no change to answer of those questions, it won't help applying again.
