Got another passport after Visa Appointment... NEED HELP

I took appointment for my mother on one passport, later noticed spelling mistake in her last name. My mother went to passport office they issued different passport with correct name (different passport number). Now she have 2 passports.
Appointment was taken on old passport??

Can visa office allow her with that same appointment if she take both passports??
Do we need to take another appointment with new passport number??
Please advise...

I think it is better to go with new appointment.
Probably you may need new HDFC certificate or get the old one corrected, if it has the ref to old passport number.

I know of someone who had a similar issue. They had enquired at VFS and the response they had given was that there are two options in such cases.
Option 1: GO ahead with to your visa interview with both passports in hand and explain to the consular officer of the change.
Option2: After you get the new passport visit the VFS site and tell them and they will make a change on the HDFC receipt so that it coincides with your new passport. But for this one should not have any online appointments currently boked. Even if theyhave done so usuing this HDFC receipt and the old passport they should cancel that appointment before they use this second option.
