Question regarding what is allowed into the consulate

Hi all,

If your folks already got their Visa can you please let me know what kind of folder they carried inside the consulate? I bought a black zippered folder and I was under the impression folders are fine and bags are not. Can someone clarify this for me? I would really appreciate it.
