  • Pls Help . Suggestions are appreciated

I am planning to apply visitors visa for my mom. I am a green card holder. My mom was treated for breast cancer in nov 2005 . She had a surgery and now she is completely alright.Do i have to mention this when applying a visitor visa for her. Does she have to show the documents that she is completely cured of cancer and she is just visiting to see me.

She is working currently in a quasi-central govt . organization and due to retire in july 2007. So is there a chance of her getting a 10 year visa. ?
    Pls respond

    Thanks
    G

    Hi,

Are you planning to send her for interview while she is working with NOC?, then there is a chance for multiple entry visa though getting NOC is a big pain sometime. I don't think you have to mention about cancer unless it is asked somewhere.

        Hi,

I would suggest that your mom could check with her colleague (someone who has already travelled to US) on NOC or alternatively your mother could check with her boss/Human Resources department about obtaining an NOC.

          Thanks again for the reply.
normally how much bank balance in the US is considered to be good to send visa papers.
also if someone can write to me the list of papers to send i would really really appreicate it. or atleast point to the link .

                1. $5k+ per applicant is good enough
                2. Link to get more ino on sponsor's list:
USA Tourist Visa - Comprehensive information about the documents the sponsor of a visitor visa needs to send. Discuss any questions regarding sponsoring visitor visas in our discussion forum.

                3. No problem, you can sponsor her alone.
                4. Goto VFS site to know the appointmen process. (https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/)
(you need to take HDFC receipt by paying fee, then wait for 2 days then goto VFS site to continue with appointment process)
                5. If she is not comfortable with English, then go for Tamil interview, (I see one earlier post saying Tamil dates are open for Jan'07)

First get the HDFC certificate... dont wait till you see the dates, as regional slots are filling up pretty fast.... Anyhow HDFC receipt is valid for 1 year from date of issue.

after 48 hrs start filling up the forms online....

If possible, please have a look at Ds156 and DS157 so that you know what you are going to fill.

Remember col 1 to 14 in DS156 cannot be modified once saved, so you should be careful while filling this data.

Well, there is no specific time to look for next avaiable regional dates.... it may not be just next month for Feb'07 regional dates...
                        Thx
