URGENT need your help....

My parents were granted 10 yr multiple entry visa. Unfortunately, the passprt officer signature got erased (not whole ,may be a character). My dad enquried at passport office and was instructed to re-apply for a duplicate passport.

1) is the visa still valid.
2) what is the procedure at the immigration (India/ US). Will the duplicate passprt create any issue.

Folks . Please advise. They have already booked their tickets.

Just carry both the passport while traveling. New passport and the one with the visa in it.
