    Parental Consent for B2 visa

    Would anyone know if both parents have to approve the visa application for a minor?
    I am taking my daughter to the States or planning to without her father. They want to see the birth certificate. Is this normal? Or is it just to check that I am her mother.

    It is not necessary to take the consent.

    They want to see birth certificate to prove that you are her mother.
