I'm going through the same anguish, so i know how u feel. i heard from one user srican who's father got a pink note. He's planning on having the senator send a letter to consulate. Maybe you can try that or call Dept of state in washington, d.c.. 202 647 4000, you might b eon wait for a long time, but eventually a visa specilaist will answer, probably you talking to them will be of some relief.

I keep thinking the same, i wish more people would come forth and post thier case issues as well. If you follow the case status pdf doc regularly, u'd see some case no, come off it.

My folks went on Jan 31st 2006. No word yet. It is extremely slow.

Newyorker it seems to be a gud idea to send a letter to consulate from senator or to call Dept of State in DC....but i am scared that they shud not take our eagerness in getting a visa to our parents in a differnt sense and delay the process further...even the lines that you have underlined are very scary....

Is it safe to discuss abt the pending process of the visa to the visa specialist?Did u try that ? was that of any help?

Its bad that ur folk's case is pending since Jan hope it gets resolved as soon as possible...hey did u check there was a user manavalan_k whose AAP got processed in 47 dayz but his case was different though...not sure if they handle pink slip for visitors visas diffrently..

Well, we can never say what rubs them off in the wrong direction. Infact, the day i called dept of stte, the Visa specilsat there told me, "We've cleared all the paper work and there is a msg on our system for the chennai consulate to contact your father via email" It's been 23 days since, no word or email from them. Is it safe to discuss pending procee ! well, the visa specialist wont tell u what exactly is the "pending process", they'll just say that it's pending.

I looked at manavalan_k posts, seems like his is a h1 or a L visa. Have you emailed the consulate urself ?

          Bye...

hey Newyorker....any change on ur parent's status....i am planning to call dept of state this monday(thought that would complete 2 weeks of time )...in your previous note you had mentioned that in the pdf most of the case no come off and yes i did also noticed that..last week my father's case number was in page 20 now its in page 19..wondering when they take off case no's like this do they actually do they update the status from "pending process" to something else and when its gets cleared they take off the number or do they take off the case no's if they are going to reject the visa? do you have any idea on that?

That's possibility, not sure, this pending visa thing is completley a new process they have started. So, there isnt any definitive info to understand how it works.

No Tina, no news from them yet re: my fathers visa. Checking the websites, contemplating wheter to call consulate or not, what to do and what not to do is taking toll on me. It's like a full time job apart from my ft real job. I think first they update the status as either "Contact Consulate" / "Send DD, Passport" / "Send itinerary" etc. Once the case is resolved, i think they just remove the case no.

hi tina, find out who ur senator is first. I mean google your county and state info for senators, and u'll get bunch of info, from there u'll ge tthe address and phone no's too. Either call, email or send a letter to them and tell them the whole thing.

Hope this will work out. By the way, how are ur folks feeling abt all this.

Have you spoken to them. My impression was that, once you call the senator, they'll let you know i think the basic stuff like copy of passport or passport no. I'm not sure.

Few weeks ago, i got to know that my father's visa was approved in July but they emailed to incorrectly. He has 2 v's in his email id, and they sent to an email id with one V. Thru another source we came to know and we called athe consulate. What surprised me is that, they havent bothered to let us know via phone or anything and after many weeks of calling, they finally emailed at the correct id.

So, we have to sent ppt, dd etc to the consulate and see what happens.
