Plz help- Father's Visa

i had emailed the docs to my senator but no news yet..and the status is still the same...not sure what takes so long for them to process...and to my surprise the numbers just next to my fathers are getting cleared fast...not sure if waiting patiently is the only thing that i wud now need to do

Is the consulate holding on to ur dad's passport or have they given back to him. Did u try calling the Dept of state again ? All this seems so futile....the waste of time, energy and mainly for parents. Keep calling hte senator and the dept of state proactively.

i have been following ur post for quite some time and was really thinking how much frustating this has been been for both of u. i have been in similar but more frustatuing position than u. i have applied for the visa last year visitors and was put on administrative processing. i got the call after a looong wait of 10 months. i went to USA for 10 days and gave my exam. i need to apply again for the purpose of seeking the residency and mine application was again put under administrative procesing . i am waiting for 2 months now and still no response. oooooooooooof
i have lost whole year of my career nad on the verge of loosing another. i am very much disheartened dont know what to do any suggestion?

on this very post, i had given the dept of State's phone no, try giving them a call and ask them what's the deal.

Ditto with me, after jan's appt, my dad just called 2 days ago to say that he got the visa. what sucks is visa had been approved back in end of july but consulate didnt try to contact us properly, they send us an email, which they had mistyped and due to another source we came to know that it was approved and we contacted them again.

They have no consideration for time at all, days are turning into weeks and into months too. For no particular reason, just like that, call us next wed, next friday, it's festival holidays here, so consulate is closed for 3 days...on and on...

Dear India21,

Actually, things are sorted out with my dad's visa, but it left a bitter taste for all the Visa process. I hope u make the best out of hte waiting time while ur visa is working out. Please do share with us yor thoughts, it's give u a place to vent out and who knows maybe we can help.

i tried calling the state Dept and even wrote to my senatory but i dont think any progress has been made on my dad's case as of now...even i my dream i see only the pending process status against my dad's number...and the most sad thing is my stay over here might end anytime this year or so..not sure when i wud come back here and with the left three months on hand and that too a winter not sure how quick they now process my father's visa..i am just counting on the days..

I can relate to the situation you are going through and the wait is truly gruesome....the good part is we know that it's a definite that his visa is approved, except that now this process is taking time.

Make sure to call the consulate atleast once a week, to keep checking, though the web site says "Pending Process". Sometimes, though the consulate gets it, maybe due to resources they cant get back to applicant as soon as we wish they would.

221(g) IV: why take so long?

I have same problem with my father's case. His interview was in June'06 and it is still pending. he got 221g as well, I don't know if its pink color or not. I'm calling state dept and emailing US embassy New Delhi once/week. I realy have a bad experience. My father is 80 years old, I guess they don't care.
I tried even to get even help from congressman, still same. I have sent a letter to out senator and they are going to do inquiry now.
I'm really stressed out.
They should not have done treat elderly people like this.

Anyone can give me link how to check status for pending cases for US Embassy New Delhi?

Thru another source we came to know and we called athe consulate. What surprised me is that, they havent bothered to let us know via phone or anything and after many weeks of calling, they finally emailed at the correct id.

What is ppt, dd? What other sources did you find out? I tried to call delhi embassy, they always have recording, no live person answer the phone. Chennai might be advance than delhi

Hmm.. PPT is passprt and DD is Demand Draft.

Well, if they asked you to send the passport and DD then ur father got the visa. Keep us posted.
