  • pls help..parents visit visa info reqd..

    Hi,
    I have 2 questions:

    1. When applying for a visit visa for parents, which of the following is a better option:
    a. applying online, or
    b. submitting application at the US visa application center
Let me know if any specific advantages of each.

    2. I belong to andhra pradesh state in india and my parents reside there. So, do my parents need to attend only chennai consulate or they can attend kolkota/delhi consulate as well for US consulate interview for visit visa?

please let me know soon. Your help is highly appreciated.

    thanks,
    praveen

as far as i know, EVERYBODY MUST apply for a visa in person...ther used to b a rule which says people of age <14 and >79 dont need to apply in person..but i'm not sure on this....

ask them to go to chennai ONLY...otherwise ther is a chance of being rejected (redirected to a different consulate)....

please let me know soon. Your help is highly appreciated.

    thanks,

I would recommend submitting online, as you the option of modifying data in DS156/157 forms any time with certain restrictions.

          Editing DS 157

          Hi Ramkumar,

You had mentioned that if we do online appointment, we have provision to modifiy the ds156 and ds157. I have to include the edu. and experience of a retired person. Initially i thought it is not needed then i realised it is not going to harm any thing.

Can you please suggest how to do this?

You detailed explanation will help so many people who are new in getting appointment.

          Regards
          Pushpa
