  • Seperate appointment for both parents

    Hi everyone,
I am planning to bring my parents to US on visitor visa. My father was retired in May and mother is a house wife. I have few questions as below. it will be great help if someone could clarify.

    1. I am planning to sponsor the visa (as they say blood relation is better in many sites). Is it ok if I sponsor the visa (as I stayed here only for 3 yrs from 2003 where as my husband lived here for 7 years from 1999). I have been working from April 2004 in a full time job with a good salary.

    2. I took seperate appointments for mummy (aug 31st) and daddy (Sep 6th)
as my father's passport got delayed. But they want to come together.
So is it a good idea for my mother to tell them that my father has an immediate appointment and she would be joining him or should she say like my father is not joining her. Which makes a strong case.

    3. I prepared the I-134 and bank papers today on July 17th. So documents would be 11/2 months old for my mothers appointment and 2 months for father's appt. Is this ok.

    Please help.
    -thanks

Your husband can sponsor in-laws without any issues. If you have good salary, tax returns and sufficient bank balance (i.e. min 5K per applicant), then you can sponsor, otherwise let your husband sponsor.

As both are going for the interview, it is not good to say “father is not joining”. Let her explain why they could not get the same slot. Try to get same slot for both of them as this is recommended way of attending the interview. Coming to making stronger case it all depends what you/they can provide for strong ties.

Doc needs to 30-45 days old.

      separate appointments for both parents

My mother was planning to say the actual reason for the 2 appointments (that is my father getting passport little late). We also told her to show the interview letter of my father. Do you think this is good.
the problem with chanign appointment is , we already cancelld both our parents applications twice to prepone appointments. So cancelling it again would probably deactivate application and make us wait for 2 months.

Is there anything else we can do on this.

Yes, per new rules it wld deactivate ur application form for 60 days, so better goahead with separate appointments and let her follow what you told
