  • Visiting America with my American wife

    Hi all
I need some advice on important matter. I have visa interview end of July. I am married to American citizen for almost five years, (she is white woman). She has lived most of this time here in India with me, and plans to stay living here with me, as I have no desire to move from India. She has no ties to US, has no family etc. We have all papers of her being here, Indian residential permit, etc. My question is this. My wife needs to go back if possible before my interview for personal matter, but intends to come back with me, as will be shown by return ticket for her and myself. But will be be more of advantage if she is here for my interview, so I can produce her passport and residents permit to VO? I am only requesting three weeks time for visit, as this is my vacation time. Should I have any problem? I have all other documents...proof of ties to India, NOC from job, family ties here. We have never applied for immigrant visa, as I wish to stay in India, but I have travelled outside India to European countries and have always returned in timely manner. I have previous US visa which I did not travel on, but that was like 15 years back .

I am self sponsoring. Main thing is should I have my wife wait so to be here for the day of interview? Thanks for any advice given

You should not have any problem getting US visa irrespective of whether your wife is in India or in US at the time of interview.

You have already shown the nonimmigrant intent by staying in India for 5 years with American wife and have not immigrated to the US.
