  • Mother's Visa rejected in Chennai-insufficient funds

    Hi,
My husband sponsored my mother for a visitor's visa and it was rejected. It seems the visa officer told my mom that as my husband is the only working person (i am a house wife and my younger brother in india is still studying and my father is no more) she doesnot think that there are sufficient funds to sponsor her trip. My mother owns a house, we kept all the investment papers from both US and Canada (we are canadians living in US) My mother had also visited Canada and went back to India and she even told the VO abt this. Still that lady kept on saying that there are no sufficient funds...she refused to even touch the docs my mother was showing to her....What else do I need to send her before we book another appt for her..? Kindly help.....
How much money should we show them ???...(well, the office didnot even bother to look at the supporting docs)
    Thanks,
    Sram.

Min 5K per applicant is requried.
In addition to that, they also look whether the sponsor have regular income or not etc
    Better luck next time.

      ..more info needed pls...

I appreciate your earlier reply !!
Yes, my husband gets regular income (we kept his employment letter as proof)
We did show $20K on I-134.
We also sent statements for investments worth 50K$.
But the visa officer refused to even touch the documents when my mother was showing them to her. She just kept on repeating that there are no sufficient funds !! WITHOUT looking at any documents even once !!
Any tips for the next time please....

        Visa rejection

Father is no more is the only reason for rejection, why dont to write an email to the US Embassy in Chennai. Mine is the same case too, my Mom's visa was rejected 3 times because of this. We dont know what to do about it.
