No Lastname in passport

Hi,
My parents recently got their passports and my mother doesnt have a last name in that.As per passport her surname is nill and her given name is parimala rajashekar.

Will there be a problem getting visa due to this?Should we get it changed in passport?? Meanwhile what details should I provide in visa appointment?

while taking visa appointment, can i just give her surname as rajashekar
and first name as parimala?? Will this lead to any problems?


Pls advise.
