  • My parents got rejected for 2nd Time

My parents got rejected for the second time also on Aug 7th 2006.
Last year they rejected on the basis 214(b), this year also they rejected for the same reason. although my father took his originial bank FD's, Property papers etc.
The following are the questions asked to my dad:

    1. How many times did u come for an interview?
    A. Once.
    2. How many sons you have.
    A. 3 sons & 1 daughter.
    3. when is your son gone to US.
    A. Feb 2005. since one half years he is there.
    4. What is your daughter do in USA.
    A. House maker (h4).
    5. what's ur Son-In-Law do?
    A. Programmer/Analyst.
    6. How many sons you have here in India.
    A. 2 sons, Elder son got married and the younger son yet to get married.
    7. was it a join family.
    A. father said yes. my 2 sons live with me.
    8.What do you do?
    A. Retired, Pension Holder
    9. how much do get Pension Per Annum
    A. xxxxx
    10. and how much monthly.
A.xxxx, my father also said he is getting xxxx as monthly rentals from his property.

    Thats it

After seeing all my supporting documents, like w2,tax papers,I-134,Bank statment showing 16k here in USA, 6 months pay stubs, she simply said that your son cannot afford you both in USA. So we cannot issue visa come next Year.

Can anyone tell me out what made the VO to think that your son cannot afford you in usa. or what could be the reason even after having all the necessary documents both from my side and also my father taking all the original property papers, along with Bank FD's etc.

I am planning to take another appointment again, Am i eligible to take another appointment for them. will it be ok if i get appointment for both my dad and mom after Mar 2007 onwards.

I appreciate if someone can post a response to this or mail to [email protected].
    Thanks.

but i also heard that they do not care about the balance i maintain here, for some of my friends they got their parents visa and they showed the bank balance just US $4000.

If the VO had to reject based on the purportedly insufficient salary or bank balance of yours then I don't think he would have asked so many questions. He could have rejected right away after one or two cursory questions so that it does'nt appear as if he already made up his mind. I think that the rejection was not based on your salary or bank balance, it was just a cosmetic reason the VO gave. Maybe he just wanted to reject and he gave that stupid reason to do it. Call it bad luck, had they been before another VO the same day same time they might have got it. Its simply a roll of dice.

Last month my younger brother went for a business visa interview. He has a one man S/W development company in Hyd. No PAN number nothing. In his application he mentioned place of stay as Beverly Hilton Hotel because his company puts him up there. The VO saw his application form and said "So you will be staying in Beverly Hilton?". My brother said yes, the VO smiled, did not see or ask anyting else and stamped a 10 yr multiple visa. So you never know how these things work.

              Hi MSB,
You can easily take another appointment for your parents. My parents visa got rejected on july 25th & the next week itself we booked second interview for them on Feb 02. The visa officers dont mind us spending money so many times.
