applying F1 after having recently got B1/B2 visa

I was wondering if you get a B1/B2 to answer a professional pharmacy exam and later on you need to apply for F1, would that be a cause of denial of F1 from visa officer's point of view.

I know there is no clear cut answer, as it would depend on the individual, but I was wondering if there was some collective forum wisdom out there, saying this would indeed be a cause of denial or if there are known precedents about this situation.

Also are the chances of getting B1/B2t visa improved, if the individual is working in India and has not resigned from the job like a couple of months to prepare for the exam.

If the pharmacy exam is required for your desired student course,
there should not be a problem. You can honestly tell the consular that you wish to enrol for a student course and for that you need to take the exam for which you need the B1/B2. After you return , you can apply for the F1 which is what the consulars expect you to do.

Yes it will help for the B1/B2 if you are still in a job.

applying F1 after having recently got B1/B2 visa

The pharmacy exam is not related to field of graduate study. Well it could be , but getting admit to pharmacy grad school is little bit difficult.
I am thinking that needing a visa for appearing the exam may convey a job intent, and dont know what impact ( or none :-) ) could be on the subsequent F1 app.

,,,,,not to discourag eyou but just be aware also that if you are refused the F1 your B visa will be cancelled.
