Hi all,
Many of you have asked me for the format of the letter that we used for our Visa Apps. Again this is totally a personal experience and it may or may not work for everyone. Bottomline is that if we are honest in our application *and* if we are confident during the interview, then this letter might help as an icing on the cake. It will just make our case stronger.

I, <parent's name>, would like to request you to please grant me Visitor's Visa to visit the United States of America during <time frame of their visit, like this fall or this spring or this summer etc>. I would definitely come back to India within the allowed timeframe for the following reasons <Bullet point your reasons and high light any main reasons you might have here>
