  • To mention about Dad accompanying mom ot not?

    Hi All,

My mom has been rejected visa for 3 times already and wil be appearing again in Nov. Last time we had mentioned that my dad is accompanying her to US ( My dad came to US a year ago on his work, for a conference on a 10 yr business visa) . They had questioned her about dad;s previous trip to US and she has mentioned the same and got her visa rejected. Now, my dad is retired.. and he bought some lands to farm and he is retiring that way settling in the outskirts of the city near Bangalore. Is it better to say my dad is not going to come, only my mom wil come alone and she has to go back because now my dad is retired and he needs to take care of the farming lands. Because the Consulate might think, if my dad is retired and has US business visa he might stay back in US or something even though his intentions are not such. Please advise, I need to clearly put things so they still dont think she is a potential imigrant.. I am pregnant and badly want my mother to be here by december.

Also I have 2 brothers who are working in Bangalore, we had provided letters stating they all live together and she is coming to only see me for a while. Still they were not convinced. Your suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jiggypav

    JiggyPav,

You have extremely string ties in India. In a letter write all these in bulleted points and ask your mom to somehow hand it over to the VO (She can keep it in the first page of her passport while she is waiting for the interview. Ask her not to give to the clerk in the front who verifies the app, HDFC receipt and passport. That clerk verifies it and gives it back to the applicant in a folder, ask your mom to keep this letter in that folder while she is waiting for her turn at the interview). Also at the interview ask her to be as confident and smiling as she can..

Good Luck to you, I am sure she will be here before the big day!!!

Also make sure in your letter that your mom is coming to USA for tourism and NOT assisting your pregnancy. Anyway if they ask specifically, she can say but not upfront as its the main intention of travel.

        Thank you so much Sri!

But my mom did handover this letter and the interviewer read it. She had asked her just 1 question, " do you have any grandchildren?" and my mom said no! thats it, she said I am not convinced. Should I try the same reasons to come back that i mentioned in the previous letter, I dont know wht extra thing I should add.. does it matter if its the same letter again?
