  • Question regarding selection of language

My parents recently got an appointment at chennai. When I saw the appointment letter the language is English for both my Dad and Mom. My mom can't speak or understand english. Is that ok since she will be with my Dad at the interview. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

It is perfectly alright as your dad can translate for your mom. Don't worry at all, you are fine.

          Language Selection for Interview

My parents interview is scheduled in Sept 06 ,I wish to know whether they should go for English or should take a translater since my dad knows english but my mom doesnt know pretty much.

Also I am working here on H1 as well as my husband is on H1 should my parents state that our daughter is working and not on H4 since we also have 3 yrs old child.(they will misunderstand for baby sitting)

Any suggestions will be highly appreaciated

          Thanks

What is the language you had selected at the time of interview?
            Which consulate?
If you are sure that your Dad can manage American english then you need not go for translator even your mother does not know as your father can act as translator

Also I am working here on H1 as well as my husband is on H1 should my parents state that our daughter is working and not on H4 since we also have 3 yrs old child.(they will misunderstand for baby sitting)
Who is sponsoring the visa, you or your husband?
What did you specify as your legal status in DS156 form?
If you are H1, they need to tell "you are on H1" when asked, VO may ask "why your daughter is not sponsoring the trip", so you shld be ready with answer. Dont forget to send all your emp related, financial statements etc though you are not sponsoring.

Any suggestions will be highly appreaciated

            Thanks

If your dad can talk english then don't go for translator. In your mother's case your father can act as translator. Make your parents more confident for an interview.
