Telugu translator

I took visa appointment for my father in English.
He is little worried that he might not understand the accent of the VO. I was wondering if he can request for a telugu translator after he goes for the interview.

Please clarify.

I wld suggest not to take risk, if he is not at all comfortable with English then better cancel the current one and take new one with Telugu… if his concern is related to accent then you can follow the steps described in thread http://www.immihelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17998 step#6.
There is a chance of sending your parents back if they ask for translator at the consulate.
