Using rush service

My parents will be appearing for interview in Chennai at the end of the month.
I want them to collect passport using rush service the same day if they get visa so that they dont need to wait for the passports.

Is there anything I need to specify in the visa application online for using the rush service or can they just go and pick up the passport.

I also would like to know where should they collect the passport (VFS office ??) location in Chennai and the timings during which they should collect.

Please suggest.

I don't think rush service is available in chennai. u have to wait atleast 1-2 days before u can collect the passport.

They have to wait to receive them by mail ?

Using rush service, you can collect the passport from VFS/courier center once the pasasports are handed-over to them from consulate.
So you may not be able to collect on the same day of interview.

So, does anyone have thoughts how long it takes for the passport to be delivered to the visa center or VFS center from where the it can be collected.

Can you share your experiences in using the rush service with chennai consulate. Unless the passport can be collected the same day or next day, my parents have to return home to receive the passport. If they can receive the passport in Chennai itself, they were goign to stay in Chennai for more time.

usual it takes 1 to 2 days

you can collect passport in 1 to 2 days after your interview is done.

my father had interview on monday and his passport wasn't ready until wednesday. my in-laws had their interview on tuesday and their passports were ready on wednesday. my mother had appointment on monday and she picked her passport on tuesday itself.

Roughly it will be 1 to 2 days only.
